Shinhan Financial Chairman Jin Okdong Holds Meeting with Chairman Kim Byunghwan and Small Business Owners

On May 8, Jin Okdong, Chairman of Shinhan Financial Group, visited the headquarters branch in Jung-gu, Seoul, together with Kim Byunghwan, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, to hold a "Field Meeting on Financial Support for Small Business Owners in the Banking Sector."

This field meeting was organized to listen to the difficulties faced by small business owners and to enhance the effectiveness of tailored consultations and institutional linkages. Chairman Jin and Chairman Kim met with small business customers receiving consultations through the 119plus and Haepssalron programs, as well as customers participating in support programs for business closures, and listened to their opinions.

Chairman Jin stated, "I find it meaningful to be able to contribute to the joint efforts between the public and private sectors to alleviate the difficulties of small business owners," adding, "I hope this will become a turning point of hope for customers facing hardship and a solid foundation for recovery for those considering closing their businesses."

He continued, "We will continue to provide practical and tangible financial support, such as interest rate reductions, repayment period adjustments, and various customized consulting services. In addition, we will actively support small business owners based on non-financial services such as the Shinhan SOHO Academy and Ddaenggyeoyo."

Since September last year, Chairman Jin has been leading the "Bring-UP & Value-Up Project," which involves converting Shinhan Savings Bank’s personal credit loans into Shinhan Bank’s new refinancing products, positioning the bank as a financial ladder for customers.
