The Chungnam Office of Education announced on the afternoon of May 8 that it had signed a business agreement with the Good Neighbors Chungcheong Regional Headquarters in the conference room of the provincial office of education to identify and support children and youth in crisis within the region.
The agreement aims to eliminate welfare blind spots in educational settings by establishing a cooperative system between the two organizations. The main objectives include identifying children and youth from families in crisis and providing emergency support, implementing educational programs to promote rights and foster global citizenship, and activating local community networks.
Since 2020, the Good Neighbors Chungcheong Regional Headquarters has been carrying out various support projects for educationally disadvantaged groups. Over the past three years, it has provided a total of 168 million won in support for families in crisis, Hope Scholarships, and educational support projects for student campaigns.
Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol stated, "Due to rapid social changes, the difficulties faced by students from vulnerable groups caused by educational gaps are increasing," and added, "We will continue to work together with both the public and private sectors so that all children in Chungnam can grow up in a happy and safe educational environment."
