Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province held the "Hyo Sarang Grand Festival" for local seniors in celebration of the 53rd Parents' Day.
The event took place on May 8 at the Kkachi Hall of the Yeongju City Culture and Arts Center, organized by the Yeongju City Social Welfare Center (Director Heo Kyungwoon).
The "Hyo Sarang Grand Festival" began with an opening ceremony, followed by congratulatory performances, commendations for exemplary filial piety, and cultural performances. The event was filled with a variety of programs designed to express gratitude and respect to the attending seniors and citizens.

The Yeongju City Social Welfare Center has been operating various programs to enhance the welfare of seniors. On this day, in collaboration with the local community, the center prepared a wide range of cultural performances and experiential activities, which were met with an enthusiastic response.
Director Heo Kyungwoon stated, "It is very meaningful to be able to express our gratitude to local seniors on Parents' Day," and added, "We will do our best to improve welfare services so that seniors can enjoy a healthy and warm later life."
Lee Jaehun, Acting Mayor of Yeongju City, also attended the event and remarked, "It is very meaningful to be able to convey our respect and gratitude to seniors on Parents' Day," and emphasized, "The city will continue to provide unwavering attention and support so that seniors can enjoy a comfortable and respected life."
Yeongju City is taking the lead in realizing "a city of filial piety and inclusive welfare" by promoting various senior welfare policies in response to the aging society.
