BYD Atto 3 Surpasses 500 Units Sold in Korea Within Two Weeks of Launch

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD announced on May 8 that it has sold more than 500 units of its compact sport utility vehicle (SUV), the Atto 3, in the South Korean market just two weeks after its launch.

BYD Korea completed the delivery of 543 Atto 3 vehicles over approximately 14 days, from April 14 to April 30.

The compact SUV Atto 3 from BYD began full-scale deliveries on April 14, following the completion of the national electric vehicle subsidy assessment on April 2. The process included pre-delivery inspection (PDI), allocation of vehicles to each dealer, and applications for local government subsidies by purchasing customers.

Since deliveries began, the BYD Atto 3 has been newly registered at an average rate of about 31 units per day, with customer handovers proceeding smoothly. The suggested retail prices are 31.5 million won for the BYD Atto 3 and 33.3 million won for the BYD Atto 3 Plus. With electric vehicle subsidies applied, the Atto 3 can be purchased for the high 20 million won range in some localities.

Cho Incheol, head of the passenger vehicle division at BYD Korea, stated, "We are very proud that Korean customers can finally experience an e-mobility lifestyle with BYD," adding, "BYD Korea will do its utmost to promote the popularization of electric vehicles and enhance consumer convenience in the domestic market."

BYD Korea currently operates official service centers for BYD passenger vehicles in 12 major cities nationwide and plans to increase the number of service centers to more than 25 by the end of this year. There are also 15 official showrooms and dealer networks operating in major cities across the country.
