On May 8, in Odong-dong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, the Bokji Family Volunteer Association hosted a Senior Citizens Festival for about 200 local senior citizens at the multipurpose hall on the third floor of the Odong-dong Administrative Welfare Center.
As part of the pre-event program, there were saxophone performances, gogo janggu (traditional drum) performances, and guest singer performances. The Odong-dong Bokji Family prepared Samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and refreshments with care, and commemorative gifts were provided with support from Hanil Nursing Hospital, Burim Welfare Mart, and Hooni Distribution.
Chairperson Jo Eunsook said, "We prepared this festival with excitement and happiness so that all residents could reflect on the grace of parents and honor the virtues of respecting and caring for elders. I would like to express my gratitude and respect to the senior citizens who have devoted themselves to the development of our community, and I wish you all a vibrant and healthy life."
Odong-dong Chief Choi Kyungcheol stated, "I hope this moment becomes a meaningful occasion to give back to the senior citizens who have sacrificed for their families and the community throughout their lives. We will continue to do our best to ensure that seniors can enjoy a healthy and fulfilling later life."
