This library was formerly operated as the private 'Haemoro Iyeon Small Library' since 2013, but it changed its name and location. Recently, it underwent remodeling with support from a reading environment improvement project promoted by HDC Hyundai Development Company.
Through the remodeling, the library was established on the first basement floor of the Haemoro Iyeon Apartment commercial building, with a total floor area of 66 square meters. This is double the previous size of 33 square meters.
The library offers 16 reading seats and a collection of 6,000 books. It is open to everyone free of charge from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. It is closed on weekends.
Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City, stated, "We will continue to support small libraries so they can become community-oriented cultural spaces that are closely connected to residents' daily lives."
Currently, Gwangmyeong City operates a total of 47 small libraries, including 4 public and 43 private ones.
