On May 8, BNK Kyongnam Bank held the "Financial DREAM Bus on Wheels Event" to provide customized financial services for regions with limited access to financial institutions.
The event, held at the parking lot of the Sancheong County Council, was attended by BNK Kyongnam Bank Executive Director Lim Jae-moon and Executive Director Kim Kyung-ok, Financial Supervisory Service Gyeongnam Branch Manager Shin Kyu-jong, Korea Inclusive Finance Agency Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters Director Je Yeong-ju, Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation Chairman Lee Hyo-geun, and Sancheong County Small Business Association President Kwon Soon-kyung, among others.
BNK Kyongnam Bank, the Financial Supervisory Service, the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency, and the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation used a moving bank (mobile branch) to provide one-stop on-site consultations and applications for Sancheong County small business development funds to local small business owners and those affected by wildfires.
They also provided various financial services to small business owners and senior citizens, offered guidance on illegal private lending, delivered the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency’s core services such as Smile Finance and dormant deposit programs, and supported credit guarantee and debt adjustment consultations.
Afterward, the venue was moved to Sancheong Market, where a campaign was held under the theme "Safe Finance, Happy Gyeongnam" to promote the eradication of illegal private lending and the prevention of voice phishing.
The campaign aimed to inform market merchants and local residents about the dangers of illegal private lending and to spread correct financial knowledge to help prevent victimization.
Lim Jae-moon, Executive Director of BNK Kyongnam Bank, stated, "The Financial DREAM Bus on Wheels event, conducted in cooperation with the Financial Supervisory Service and related organizations, was designed to expand convenience by providing customized financial services directly to regions with limited access to financial institutions. In addition, we conducted a prevention campaign to help local residents avoid falling victim to illegal private lending and voice phishing. We will continue to collaborate with related organizations to provide practical assistance to local small business owners and to create a happier Gyeongnam."
Lee Hyo-geun, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation, said, "This event was organized to support the recovery of the local economy and improve financial accessibility for small business owners, especially those affected by wildfires, by making financial services more easily available. I hope that by providing accurate financial information, we have helped alleviate financial anxiety and supported healthy financial activities."
