On May 8, at the Office of External Cooperation at Pohang City Hall, Mayor Kangdeok Lee appointed Jinseop Jang as the Overseas Public Relations Advisor.

Jinseop Jang, the newly appointed Overseas Public Relations Advisor, resides in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He has served as the President of the Korean American Economic Association of Boston and as the President of the Boston Chapter of the World-OKTA (World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations).
Currently, he participates in the field of local diplomacy as a member of the Boston City External Relations Committee and is also actively involved in the Boston Economic Club, which operates on a membership basis.
Advisor Jang is recognized as a regional economic expert in Boston, a leading knowledge industry city in the United States, and has also collaborated for a long time as an advisory board member of Handong Global University in Pohang, demonstrating a deep understanding of the Pohang region.
Mayor Kangdeok Lee stated, "With this appointment, we expect to raise Pohang's international profile and enhance the city's brand value by utilizing global networks," and added, "We will actively leverage local diplomacy as a solution to overcome the stagnation of regional industries."
Boston, home to Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), is known for its concentration of high value-added industries such as IT, bio, and pharmaceuticals. It is also recognized as the main host city of 'BIO USA,' the largest bio industry exhibition in North America.
Pohang City expects to generate synergy in the bio and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industries through cooperation with Boston, following the appointment of the new Public Relations Advisor.
