Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (hereafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on May 8 that all employees of Chonnam National University Hospital donated over 45 million won, which they had voluntarily collected, to support residents affected by the massive wildfire.
The donation ceremony was held on the morning of May 7 in the reception room on the second floor of the administration building at Chonnam National University Hospital. The event was attended by Park Cheolhong, President of Gwangju Community Chest of Korea; Jeong Shin, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital; Kim Youngmin, Secretary General; Jeong Sookin, Director of Education and Training; and Choi Myungi, Head of Nursing.
Jeong Shin, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital, said, "All employees of Chonnam National University Hospital came together to collect donations for residents of North Gyeongsang and South Gyeongsang who suffered significant damage. We hope that the heartfelt wishes of our staff to bring hope and comfort are delivered well."
Park Cheolhong, President of Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, stated, "We are deeply grateful for the warm sharing from Chonnam National University Hospital. The compassion shown for our neighbors' pain will provide great comfort to the affected residents."
