Goryeong County Selected for "2025 Humanities on the Road" Project

Goryeong and Dalseong,
A Humanities Journey Connecting History, Culture, and Nature

Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol) has been selected as a final recipient of the "2025 Humanities on the Road" project, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Arts Council Korea.

This marks the second time Goryeong County has been selected for the program. With a government grant of 10 million won, the county will operate a regionally tailored humanities program starting in June.

"Humanities on the Road" is a public humanities program designed to allow local residents to naturally experience the spirit of the humanities in their daily lives. Goryeong County will use Daegaya Culture Nuri (Goryeong County Lifelong Learning Center) as a central hub and plans to introduce humanities exploration content that connects the historical, cultural, and natural resources of Goryeong and Dalseong.

In particular, a 10-session program combining expert lectures and on-site explorations will take place from June to August at locations that reflect the unique characteristics of the region, such as Daegaya Arboretum, Gayatgo Village, and Dalseong Songhae Park. The first six sessions will combine themed lectures and explorations, while the final four sessions will be structured as lectures for more in-depth humanities reflection.

Governor Lee Namcheol stated, "This program goes beyond simple lectures, serving as a journey of communication that connects people, spaces, and time," and added, "I expect that Goryeong and Dalseong will be connected through the medium of the humanities, creating cultural synergy between the two regions."

The program is open free of charge to all local residents, including those of Goryeong County and Dalseong County. For participation inquiries, please contact the Goryeong County Lifelong Education Team.
