On May 8, Korea Investment & Securities announced that its Indonesian subsidiary, KIS Indonesia, has launched 'iKISI,' a local mobile trading system (MTS) for stock trading.
iKISI integrates existing local stock trading applications, account opening, and fund trading apps. It features a simple and intuitive UI/UX in line with global trends, and introduces biometric authentication for PIN verification, which is an essential function for placing orders, providing a service optimized for local users.
The company explained that localization was the top priority during development, considering the Indonesian market, where only about 5.3% of the population invests in stocks. The experience from developing the MTS for the Vietnamese subsidiary, KIS Vietnam, also contributed to more efficient development. After its launch, the Vietnamese MTS resulted in a customer acquisition effect, with new account openings reaching 26% of the existing accounts within just three months.
A representative from Korea Investment & Securities stated, "We expect iKISI in Indonesia to quickly establish itself in the market, especially among the younger generation," and added, "Through MTS development, we aim to further strengthen our competitiveness in the global financial market and solidify our leading position in the Southeast Asian digital finance market."
