The creator volunteer group "Crayon" (co-representatives Kim Chaelim and Kim Gwangtae) announced on May 8 that it had held its annual volunteer activity for stray dogs with fans on April 19.
This volunteer activity at the stray dog shelter was a fan volunteer event planned by the creator "Miseonjjang," a leading TikToker and YouTuber in Korea. Unlike a simple fan meeting, this event was designed to rapidly spread positive influence, and this year marks its second iteration. On the day of the event, Miseonjjang and fans repaired the living spaces of stray dogs, and after completing the volunteer work, she treated the fans to a meal, creating unforgettable memories for them.
In addition to Miseonjjang, several well-known influencers participated in this volunteer activity at the stray dog shelter, including Kim Gwangtae (participant in Transit Love 3), Chaelimcheoreom (video creator), Gyangaemsil (video creator), and Morinyeo (video creator), adding further meaning to the event. This was the tenth time Crayon has conducted volunteer activities at a stray dog shelter.
Crayon, a volunteer group launched in 2024, aims to spread positive influence through creators. With the slogan "Would you like to volunteer with creators?", Crayon currently has around 6,000 members (followers), and the combined reach of its active creators exceeds 15 million, demonstrating significant influence. In particular, Crayon has contributed to lowering the barriers to entry for volunteering among those previously unfamiliar with such activities. In fact, more than half of the participants in their volunteer events are fans with no prior volunteering experience, and through continuous planning of volunteer activities, Crayon is encouraging widespread public participation.
In addition, Crayon is actively engaged in various social activities. In January, Crayon participated in the donation bazaar "Gwangbok 80 Market," donating cherished items to support independence patriots and veterans. Furthermore, Crayon planned its first independent donation project by producing and selling the "Jung-hyeongi" carrier tag, donating all proceeds to support transportation volunteer work for stray dogs, thus contributing to the development of a healthy donation culture. Besides stray dog volunteering, Crayon is also involved in coal briquette volunteering, plogging, and food assistance, striving to make volunteering a cultural norm and to attract broader public interest through ongoing efforts.
Kim Chaelim, co-representative of Crayon, stated, "Crayon has a clear vision to realize the value of all community members together, with a sense of mission to inspire the latent goodness in others through the unique influence of creators," and added, "We will continue to actively collaborate with creators from various fields and do our utmost to extend a helping hand to communities in urgent need of practical support."
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Shelter, where Crayon conducted its recent volunteer activity, is a stray dog protection center located in Yongin, currently housing about 500 stray dogs. Especially known as a private shelter with a no-euthanasia policy, Rainbow Shelter has been actively rescuing stray dogs not only in Yongin but also from breeding facilities in Hwaseong, Boryeong, and Namyangju, rescuing about 300 dogs. Last year as well, the shelter continued to rescue stray dogs from illegal breeding facilities and municipal shelters, making significant efforts in animal protection.
