"Risk Management Is as Important as AI Utilization for Competitiveness"
Sharing Practical Cases and Strategies
PwC Consulting announced on May 8 that, together with Samil PwC, it will hold a seminar titled "AI Basic Act and AI Risk Response Strategies for Corporate Survival" at 3:00 p.m. on May 29 at the Amore Hall on the 2nd floor of its headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Recently, as AI technology has rapidly spread across all industries, concerns over ethical and legal risks have been growing. Starting in January next year, with the enforcement of the "Act on the Development of Artificial Intelligence and the Establishment of a Trust-Based Foundation" (AI Basic Act), companies will be subject to management obligations regarding the safety, transparency, and protection of personal information in AI systems. This will significantly impact how companies utilize AI.
This seminar will present the latest trends in domestic and international AI regulations, key aspects of the AI Basic Act, expected impacts on companies, and proactive response strategies from the perspectives of experts in various fields.
Gong Jin-ho, Director General of the Artificial Intelligence Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT, will deliver the keynote presentation on the background of the enactment of the AI Basic Act and the future direction of regulations. In the first session, Kim Sunhee, attorney at Yulchon LLC, will explain the legal understanding and considerations of the AI Basic Act. The next session will feature Park Hyunchul, leader of the Risk & Regulatory platform, who will discuss corporate response strategies to AI risks. In the final session, Yoon Yuhyun and Lee Sungho, partners at the Risk & Regulatory platform, will give a lecture on approaches to AI risk from the perspectives of control and security.
Park Hyunchul, the leader who planned the seminar, stated, "A strategy that effectively utilizes AI technology while systematically managing risks is key to survival and securing competitiveness in the AI era," adding, "This seminar will provide practical guidelines for companies seeking to proactively respond to the AI Basic Act."
Applications to participate in the seminar can be submitted on the Samil PwC website until May 23, and participation is free of charge.
