Round 1 at Yongin Speedway on May 17-18
Over 20 Years of One-Make Racing Tradition
Races Featuring IONIQ 5 N and Avante N Models
Hyundai Motor Company announced on May 8 that it will kick off the 'Hyundai N Festival 2025 Season' at Yongin Everland Speedway from May 17 to 18.
The Hyundai N Festival is the largest one-make race event in Korea, succeeding the 'Hyundai Click Speed Festival' held from 2003 to 2010 and the 'Korea Speed Festival' held from 2011 to 2018. A one-make race refers to a competition where drivers race on the track using the same model of car, so the outcome is determined solely by driver skill.
This season will feature competitions in three categories: the 'Gran Turismo eN1 Class' with the IONIQ 5 N eN1 Cup Car (race car), the 'Kumho N1 Class' with the Avante N1 Cup Car, and the 'Nexen N2 Class' with the Avante N2 Cup Car. The race cars are based on N production models and are expected to demonstrate outstanding performance.
Starting with the opening round, subsequent rounds will be held at Yeongam Korea International Circuit in June, Inje Speedium in September, Inje Speedium again in October, and Yongin Speedway in November. The third round will be co-hosted with TCR (Touring Car Racing) Asia, and the fourth round will be held jointly with the TCR World Tour and TCR Asia. Since 2018, Hyundai Motor Company has sold and supported race cars to TCR teams worldwide, achieving two overall team championships and five overall driver championships.
For the final round, the company plans to invite the winners of the SRO TC America Hyundai N Trophy Cup from the United States and the Hyundai N Cup from China to participate in an international exchange race with domestic drivers.
At each round, Hyundai Motor Company will host various events, including the racing simulation competition 'Hyundai N e-Festival powered by Logitech G,' the 'N Taxi' experience where participants can ride on the track with a professional driver, the 'N Minicar' toy car race for children, and the 'Circuit Safari' bus tour around the track. The company has also introduced a new 'N Track Day,' which allows customers who own N models or N-Line models to drive their own cars on the track.
A Hyundai Motor Company representative said, "The more than 20-year history of the N Festival demonstrates Hyundai's passion for motorsports," and added, "With the co-hosting of international competitions, global exchange races, and a variety of customer experience events, more customers will be able to enjoy the Hyundai N Festival."
