Panacea, a startup developing 'link solutions' for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, announced on May 7 that it was the only Korean company to participate in this year's Compute Express Link (CXL) Developer Conference, where it showcased its high-performance CXL 3.x switch-based framework technology.

The CXL Developer Conference was held on April 29 and 30 in Santa Clara, California. This official event, organized by the CXL Consortium that sets the CXL standard, marked its second year. Leading consortium member companies developing CXL technology?including Panacea, Cadence, and Teledyne LeCroy?participated to exhibit their CXL products and provide insights into the related ecosystem. The event also featured invited presentations by experts leading the establishment of the CXL standard.

CXL is a high-speed interconnect technology that is central to next-generation data centers. It has attracted significant attention from the industry, particularly because it can reduce infrastructure construction costs and minimize performance overprovisioning, making it a highly efficient technology.

At last year's event, Panacea drew attention from various CXL-specialized companies by demonstrating interoperability verification of its CXL design asset (IP). This year, it was the only Korean company to participate as an exhibitor, where it introduced its flagship high-performance CXL 3.x switch and the framework based on it.

Cho Yongjin, Vice President of Panacea, participated as a speaker in an official presentation session. He introduced various solutions that can be implemented based on the CXL 3.x switch, shared real-world cases of accelerating data center and high-performance computing (HPC) applications, and discussed building the CXL ecosystem with key members of the CXL Consortium.
