Flowerpots Made from Recycled Plastic and Carbon Reduction Technology Applied
Collaboration with 2024 Artist Garden Grand Prize Winner

Korea Dow will introduce the "Dow Cheongju Garden," which embodies the value of sustainability by utilizing items such as flowerpots made from recycled plastic waste. This garden, created in collaboration with artist Cho Hyejin, who won the grand prize last year, is expected to be maintained as a permanent garden within the park even after the event concludes.

On the 7th, Korea Dow announced that it will participate in the "2025 Cheongju Gardening Festival," which will be held for three days starting from the 9th at Saengmyeong Nuri Park in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, by creating a corporate donation garden themed around the circular economy and sustainability. The Cheongju Gardening Festival has been held annually by the city of Cheongju since 2018 to promote garden culture. This year, there will be two corporate donation gardens, six artist gardens, fifteen citizen gardens, and three participatory gardens. Admission is free.

Korea Dow will present a garden named "Hwasubun-like Hwasubun Garden (Dow Cheongju Garden)." Inspired by seeds, this garden represents the value of ecological circulation and concretely expresses a sustainable future by incorporating flowerpots made from recycled plastic and materials that reduce carbon dioxide. The flowerpots used in the garden were produced using Dow’s recycled plastic brand "Revoloop" technology. This technology is characterized by converting waste plastic collected domestically into high-quality recycled materials that can be used in various industries.

In addition, the eco-friendly mineral material "Wood Stone," produced using the biocatalyst-based carbon dioxide biochemical conversion technology of Hankoyeon Co., Ltd., to which artist Cho Hyejin belongs, has been applied throughout the garden. Through these efforts, Korea Dow is also presenting its long-term vision for responding to climate change and promoting ecological circulation. Lee Changhyun, CEO of Korea Dow, stated, "Sustainability and the circular economy are core values pursued by Dow," and added, "Through this festival, we will work together with the local community to create a healthy ecosystem and continue our activities for a better future."
