5 Million Won Worth of Supermarket Gift Certificates Donated
Y-Mart and People With People Support Seogu's "1,000 Won Guksi Sharing Refrigerator" Project
On May 7, Seogu District of Gwangju (headed by Mayor Kim Ikang) received supermarket gift certificates worth 5 million won as sponsorship goods from Y-Mart affiliated People With People.
The Y-Mart gift certificates will be delivered to the Seogu Senior Club and used for the district's representative sharing policy, the "1,000 Won Guksi Sharing Refrigerator" project.

The donation ceremony was attended by Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu, Kim Sungjin, Chairman of Y-Mart and President of People With People, and Chu Wangseok, Director of the Seogu Senior Club, among others, who gathered to celebrate this act of warm generosity.
Established in 2020, Y-Mart affiliated People With People is a legally designated donation organization that operates public interest projects worth approximately 70 million won annually, with the aim of promoting sustainable community development and improving quality of life.
The organization is also actively engaged in spreading a culture of proper sharing and donation, supporting public campaigns for citizens with annual contributions of 10 million won, among other activities.
Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seogu, expressed his gratitude, saying, "I deeply appreciate the warm sharing by companies working together with the local community," and added, "We will make sure this sponsorship is used with care so that it provides real help to local residents who use the Good Guksi Sharing Refrigerator."
Meanwhile, the "1,000 Won Guksi" operated by the Seogu Senior Club is a welfare project that creates jobs for seniors and provides residents with a warm meal by offering noodles made from locally produced wheat at an affordable price.
Additionally, the "Sharing Refrigerator" is a community refrigerator where residents can share donated food ingredients or meals with neighbors in need, providing free food to seniors at risk of food insecurity and expanding a sustainable culture of sharing based on public-private cooperation.
