Deadline: June 16
The Owun Cultural Foundation, a non-profit organization under Kolon Group, has begun accepting nominations for the 25th Woojeong Good Deeds Award. Established in 2001, the Woojeong Good Deeds Award is presented to discover and promote acts of kindness and inspiring stories within society. The total prize money amounts to 150 million won.
Kolon Group announced on May 7 that it is accepting nominations for the 25th Woojeong Good Deeds Award. The nomination deadline is June 16. The Woojeong Good Deeds Award is named after the pen name "Woojeong" of the late Kolon Group founder Lee Dongchan. The award, now in its 25th year, recognizes and introduces acts of kindness and inspiring stories from various sectors of society.
Eligible nominees are individuals or organizations that serve as role models for society through exemplary volunteer work and acts of kindness. Nominees must not have received an award for the same act within the past year. Both Korean nationals and foreigners residing in Korea are eligible. Starting this year, an online submission system has been introduced. Nominations and supporting documents completed in the format posted on the website may also be submitted by mail.
The selection process includes a document review and on-site evaluation. One grand prize winner, either an individual or an organization, will receive 50 million won. Three main prize winners, either individuals or organizations, will each receive 30 million won. One special prize and 10 million won will be awarded to a past recipient who has continued their good deeds. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in October.
