The Chungnam Office of Education announced that, in order to prevent food poisoning during the spring season, Superintendent Kim Jicheol and senior officials from the provincial education office conducted a special hygiene and safety inspection of meal facilities at kindergartens and schools from May 2 to May 7, 2025.
Superintendent Kim and the senior officials visited meal facilities at kindergartens and schools, presenting bouquets to the staff involved in meal services as a gesture of encouragement and support.
The inspection focused on several key areas: the inspection process for food ingredients, the management of personal hygiene, the storage and management of food ingredients, the prevention of cross-contamination during food preparation, and the verification of core temperatures during heated cooking.
Superintendent Kim Jicheol stated, "We will make every effort to operate safe and substantial school meal services by actively promoting various meal policies, including radiation testing of food ingredients, support for food poisoning prevention diagnostics, and organizing research groups with school stakeholders."
