The number of casualties resulting from the armed conflict between India and Pakistan has reportedly reached 130.
According to foreign media outlets such as the Associated Press on May 7 (local time), the Pakistani military claimed that 26 civilians were killed and 46 were injured in attacks by India. Indian police also stated that Pakistani shelling killed 10 people and injured 48 others in Indian-administered Kashmir.
In total, the number of deaths reported by both countries so far stands at 36, with 94 injured.
Since the gun attack in Kashmir last month, the two countries have continued to engage in small-scale skirmishes near the Line of Control (LoC), which serves as the de facto border. On this day, they exchanged missile strikes.
The Indian government announced that in the early hours of the day, its military launched "Operation Sindhur," targeting nine facilities used by terrorists in Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Pakistan also retaliated with missile strikes against India, claiming to have shot down five Indian fighter jets.
