Mangpo Complex Sports Center Opens in Suwon on May 7

The Mangpo Complex Sports Center has opened in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province.


On May 7, Suwon City announced that it held the opening ceremony for the Mangpo Complex Sports Center at 234-9 Mangpo-dong, Yeongtong-gu. The center has a total floor area of 13,720.88 square meters and consists of two basement levels and two above-ground floors.


Construction of the Mangpo Complex Sports Center began in December 2019, with a total project cost of 27.6 billion won. The center is scheduled to be fully completed in June.

The Mangpo Complex Sports Center offers facilities for 11 different sports, including tennis and swimming. Visitors can also experience "HADO Sports," a virtual sport. It is the public sports facility in Suwon that offers the widest variety of sports activities.


The first and second basement levels house a swimming pool (25 meters, 9 lanes) and a parking lot with 108 spaces. The first and second above-ground floors feature a table tennis hall (7 tables), a group exercise (GX) room, a fitness center, a multipurpose room, an indoor tennis court (3 courts), and a multipurpose gymnasium. There is also an outdoor inline skating rink.


At the opening ceremony, Lee Jaejun, mayor of Suwon, stated, "The Mangpo Complex Sports Center is a space where families can enjoy sports together. I hope it will invigorate the sports culture for Mangpo residents and serve as a foundation for nurturing young sports talent."
