Making Filial Piety a Part of Daily Life
Creating a Society Alive with Respect and Sharing
On May 7, Jinhae District of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, held the 53rd Parents' Day Commendation Ceremony for Filial Exemplars, expressing gratitude and respect to residents and organizations who have contributed to the practice of filial piety and the spread of a culture of respect for elders in the local community.
This ceremony was organized to reaffirm the importance of love and respect for parents and to promote the beautiful culture of filial piety. Residents and organizations who have set an example for the community by practicing filial piety in their daily lives were selected and honored with commendations.
A total of six recipients were recognized, including five individuals and one organization. In the 'Filial Exemplars' category, three residents and one public official who have shown respect for elders and practiced filial piety at home and in society were selected. In the 'Outstanding Parent' category, one individual was honored for raising children properly and healthily and for building an exemplary family. The 'Idong Volunteer Society,' which has consistently contributed to the practice of filial piety through sharing and volunteer work in the community, received the award in the organization category.
Jung Hyunseop, head of Jinhae District, stated, "All of today's awardees have preserved the warm culture of filial piety in our society and have demonstrated it through their actions. I extend my deepest respect and gratitude to all the recipients."
He added, "We will continue to strive to create a warm local community where respect and sharing are alive."
