135 Units Supplied... Up to 4 Years of Residency
Naju City in South Jeolla Province will supply an additional 35 units of "Employment Youth Rental Housing," which allows residents to live for up to four years by paying only apartment maintenance fees without a security deposit.
Naju City announced on May 7 that it will accept applications for move-in to the Employment Youth Rental Housing from May 8 to May 28.
The Employment Youth Rental Housing is one of the youth package policies of the 8th popularly elected administration, introduced in 2023 for the first time in the country to address housing issues for young people aged 18 to 45 who find employment and move to Naju.
In its first year, 30 units were supplied at Booyoung Apartments in Songwol-dong and Samyeong-dong, followed by 70 units in 2024. This year, an additional 35 units have been secured at Booyoung Apartments in Songwol-dong.
Of these, 15 units are approximately 21 pyeong in size, and 20 units are approximately 25 pyeong. For the 25-pyeong units, priority will be given to applicants whose household consists of two or more members.
Eligible applicants are young people aged 18 or older and 45 or younger as of the announcement date, who have their address in a region other than Naju City (city, county, or district) and are able to move in immediately upon the apartment move-in date.
In addition, applicants must meet all of the following criteria: be employees or business owners of a company located within Naju City, be able to provide proof of earned income, be homeless, and have a household income at or below 150% of the median income based on health insurance premium payments.
Priority for move-in will be given to households with many members, such as newlyweds and families with multiple children, and to young people who are (or will be) employed at companies located in industrial complexes in Naju City.
The apartment contracts are for an initial two-year period, with the possibility of one extension, allowing residents to stay for up to four years.
To apply, applicants must fill out the "Employment Youth Rental Housing Support Project" application form, which will be posted in the notice and announcement section of the Naju City website on May 8, and submit it in person to the City Hall Planning and Budget Office or by email.
Yoon Byungtae, Mayor of Naju City, stated, "We hope that the Employment Youth Rental Housing will become a comfortable home for young people and newlyweds from other regions who have found new jobs and settled down in Naju."
