Introducing Six Advanced Technologies Through Video
Genesis released its brand technology promotional video, 'Technology by GENESIS,' on May 7 via YouTube and social networking services (SNS).
This video introduces Genesis’s various technologies in a cinematic style, highlighting the everyday convenience provided by Genesis’s advanced driving technologies.
The technologies featured in the video are six representative features installed in Genesis’s internal combustion engine vehicles: Multi-Chamber Air Suspension, Rear-Wheel Steering (RWS), 3.5T 48V Electric Supercharger, Electronic Limited Slip Differential (E-LSD), Active Noise Control Road (ANC-R), and Sports Plus (Sports+) Mode.
First, the Multi-Chamber Air Suspension actively adjusts ride comfort and handling performance according to driving conditions. It also allows for adjustment of handling characteristics by controlling the air spring stiffness.
The Rear-Wheel Steering system actively controls the steering angle of the rear wheels in coordination with the front wheels, reducing the turning radius of vehicles with a long wheelbase and enabling more agile driving.
At low speeds, the Rear-Wheel Steering system turns the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the front wheels (counter-phase) by up to 4 degrees (based on the G90), reducing the turning radius and making maneuvers such as U-turns and parking more convenient.
Next, the 3.5 Turbo 48V Electric Supercharger combines a 48V mild hybrid system and an electric supercharger with the existing V6 3.5 turbo engine. This improves driving performance, responsiveness, fuel efficiency, and emissions.
The 3.5 Turbo 48V Electric Supercharger features an electric supercharger powered by the 48V system, which rapidly increases the air pressure supplied to the engine cylinders at engine speeds below 1,750 rpm. This reduces turbo lag by approximately 53% when the accelerator is pressed and enhances engine responsiveness.
In addition, the 48V power system, with its voltage four times higher than the conventional 12V system, more easily drives high-speed components such as the electric supercharger and starter motor, which contributes to improved fuel efficiency and reduced engine load.
The Electronic Limited Slip Differential actively adjusts the rotational difference between the left and right wheels, enabling bolder driving with optimal traction. For example, when one side’s wheel is spinning in mud or sand, the Electronic Limited Slip Differential detects the rotational difference and distributes torque appropriately through a hydraulic actuator and multi-plate clutch, helping the vehicle escape rough terrain more easily.
Active Noise Control Road (ANC-R) is a technology that effectively reduces noise by generating sound waves of opposite phase to road noise, while Sports Plus Mode controls engine torque, shift patterns, suspension damping force, and steering force to deliver a more dynamic driving experience.
A Genesis representative stated, "Genesis is constantly striving to develop driving technologies that encompass comfort, dynamism, and emotion," adding, "We aim to provide the best mobility experience to customers with technologies that reduce the effort of driving and add relaxation to every journey."
