67 Billion Won Invested by 2028
Expectations for Improved Construction Quality and Enhanced Safety of Underground Facilities
Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province is introducing an 'integrated construction project management service' for its sewer maintenance project, aiming to achieve both budget savings and improved construction quality.
On May 7, Buyeo County announced that it is investing a total of 67 billion won (including national funding) in three districts?Jawang, Johyeon·Samyong, and Marugol?to ensure the proper treatment of sewage and night soil. Accordingly, the county plans to implement the integrated construction project management service, worth approximately 4.4 billion won, until January 2028.
Previously, supervision services were commissioned separately for each project, but by integrating them into a single management system, the county expects to save about 1.8 billion won in the budget.
Additionally, various benefits are anticipated, including improved construction quality, enhanced process efficiency, reduced civil complaints, and increased durability of sewer facilities.
Park Junghyun, the county governor, stated, "Construction project management in the sewer sector is essential for ensuring quality and safety. We will do our utmost to minimize inconvenience for residents and create a pleasant Buyeo through efficient site management."
Meanwhile, in March, the county also integrated the supervision services for six public building construction projects, resulting in budget savings of about 5.2 billion won. This amount is roughly half of what would have been spent if commissioned separately, making it a notable example of fiscal efficiency achieved through proactive administration.
