Jungnang Resident Smiles Brightly While Creating a Film Using AI Tools

The Jungnang Yangwon Media Center, operated by Jungnang District (District Mayor Ryu Gyeonggi), is offering a creative education program titled "AI Filmmaking Workshop: Creating My First Film with Artificial Intelligence."

This workshop has been organized to provide residents with an opportunity to creatively utilize the latest AI technologies. The AI filmmaking method, which enables the production of original content with minimal budget and time, is attracting significant interest because it is easily accessible even to beginners.

The program will run from May 20 to July 29, with a total of 10 sessions held every Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is structured around hands-on practice, allowing participants to plan and produce their own films. Participants will learn the entire filmmaking process, from developing a story to directing techniques.

In particular, attendees will experience the process of creating creative video content using image and video-generating AI tools such as "Midjourney" and "Kling AI."

The workshop will be led by Director Kim Seongcheol, who directed "REPETITION," the grand prize-winning work at the "Fast Campus AI Film Contest," raising expectations even further. Director Kim will share practical know-how on using AI technology as a creative tool, along with filmmaking techniques.

Applications for the workshop have been accepted through the Jungnang Yangwon Media Center website since April 18, and will be open until May 12. A total of 12 participants will be selected through a document screening process. After the workshop concludes, participants' works will be showcased at a screening event, and support will be provided for submitting their films to festivals and contests.

Ryu Gyeonggi, Mayor of Jungnang District, stated, "Now that AI technology has become a part of everyday life, we are supporting residents so they can experience creative activities firsthand and discover new possibilities. We will continue to broadly support residents' cultural activities through the media center in the future."
