Invited to the MS CEO Summit in the US on May 13
AI Collaboration Expected to Deepen Further
Joint Projects Include AI Assistant Robots and Chillers
Jo Joo Wan, CEO and President of LG Electronics, will attend the 'Microsoft (MS) CEO Summit' for the second consecutive year, following his participation last year. At this event, he is expected to meet with Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, to further strengthen cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to industry sources on May 6, President Jo will attend the 'MS CEO Summit' to be held in Redmond, Washington, USA, for three days starting on May 13 (local time).
The MS CEO Summit, first launched in 1997 by Microsoft founder Bill Gates, is an annual gathering where CEOs of leading global companies and top industry experts come together to discuss the economic and business environment, prospects for technological innovation, and industry trends. This is a closed, invitation-only event, and it is known that Microsoft sends invitations directly to CEOs of major global companies every year.

The meeting between the two will take place just two months after their previous encounter in March. At this event, President Jo is expected to meet with CEO Nadella once again to further specify cooperation plans in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Jo first met with Nadella at the MS CEO Summit held in May last year, where they concretized their strategic collaboration. Early this year, at 'CES 2025', the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, they formalized their partnership. In March, President Jo met with CEO Nadella, who visited Korea for the 'Microsoft AI Tour in Seoul', to discuss strengthening their partnership and detailing collaborative plans.
After meeting with CEO Nadella in March, President Jo stated, "Today, I introduced the 'LG Q9', powered by Azure OpenAI and Bing Search," and added, "Through this partnership, AI will be able to bring us closer to realizing a zero-labor home." The Q9 is a mobile AI assistant robot that is expected to incorporate Microsoft’s AI solutions such as Azure OpenAI and Bing Search.
Since LG Electronics has agreed to supply chillers to Microsoft’s AI data centers, President Jo and CEO Nadella may also discuss expanding the scope of cooperation in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) business. Solutions related to cooling, such as chillers and heat exchangers, are emerging as core infrastructure for AI data centers.
