Park Sumin, the People Power Party's floor spokesperson, told reporters after the party meeting at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, that afternoon, "Kwon Youngse and Kwon Seongdong have urgently decided to travel to meet candidate Kim, who is campaigning in the provinces, in order to discuss the schedule for a unified candidacy."

Starting that day, candidate Kim began a two-day visit to Daegu and Gyeongbuk (TK) and Busan. It is reported that Kim and the party leadership are scheduled to meet in Daegu that evening.

Spokesperson Park stated, "All lawmakers will remain on standby at the National Assembly, and as soon as Kwon Youngse and Kwon Seongdong return, we will immediately discuss the follow-up results and consult on the next steps."

He emphasized, "A unified candidacy between candidate Han Ducksoo and candidate Kim Moonsoo must be achieved before the candidate registration in order to ensure transparency and clarity for the public. Therefore, unification between Kim and Han before registration is extremely important."

Regarding the decision to conduct a survey of party members on May 7 to gauge support for unification, he said, "The party belongs to its members," and added, "Because the situation is so urgent and serious, we decided to conduct a survey to check the overall opinion of party members on unification one last time."

In response to the suggestion that the party leadership is putting all-around pressure on candidate Kim, he said, "That is not the case at all. We are moving quickly because time is running out. If we did not respect the candidate, the gathering of lawmakers itself would not be possible," he explained.

When asked whether the party would demand Kim's resignation if unification does not occur, he replied, "No, that is not the case," and added, "We must achieve unification between candidate Kim and candidate Han, form a unified and joint government, and earn the support of the voters."
