"I will step down as soon as constitutional reform succeeds"
"I am confident I will resolve trade issues"
Independent presidential candidate and former Prime Minister Han Ducksoo emphasized on the 6th, "I will ensure the success of constitutional reform and reunify a Republic of Korea that has been fractured into many pieces into one nation."
During his keynote speech at the Kwanhun Debate held at the Koreana Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul on this day, Han stated, "As soon as the constitutional reform succeeds, I will step down from the presidency."

Han said, "There is no sign of dialogue or persuasion, which are fundamental to politics, and instead, words and actions that disregard all means and methods just to win are rampant," adding, "This kind of politics is no longer politics, but violence."
He continued, "Now, constitutional reform is truly and urgently needed. We must correct our country's politics through constitutional reform," he said, "If politics does not change, none of the issues?people's livelihoods, the economy, diplomacy, or reform?can be properly addressed."
Han also addressed the U.S.-led "tariff war," stating, "After being elected president, I will definitely resolve trade issues. I am confident in this."
He said, "I believe I am the person who has dealt with Korea-U.S. trade issues the longest and can handle them best," adding, "I will lead both countries to a win-win solution."
He went on to say, "The Korea-U.S. relationship is not a convenient contractual relationship driven by short-term interests, but an alliance forged in blood and solidified over many years with deep trust," and added, "As long as we do not harm each other's interests, we can always reach forward-looking conclusions."
Targeting the Democratic Party of Korea, he pointed out, "I have never seen a country where people's happiness was achieved through methods like repeated impeachment attempts, unilateral budget cuts, or distributing 250,000 won to every citizen."
Han concluded, "National unity and support for the underprivileged can only be achieved when someone who thoroughly understands the economy and administration manages the country rationally, revises and streamlines various systems," adding, "I dare say that I am the right person for this task."
