The Daegu Metropolitan Government and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Chapter of the Korea Franchise Association will host the '2025 Daegu Franchise Startup Expo' for three days from May 8 to May 10 at Hall 2 of the West Wing of EXCO.


This expo provides valuable information for prospective entrepreneurs interested in franchises, offering insights into a variety of startup items and trends. A total of 85 companies will participate with 170 booths, allowing visitors to explore a wide range of brands in one place, including those in the food service, wholesale and retail, and service industries.

In addition, the expo will feature exhibitions of meal kits, serving robots, and unmanned stores, as well as provide startup consulting and one-on-one franchise consultations. On-site contracts will come with benefits such as exemption from franchise and training fees.


Those who pre-register on the official website by May 7 can enter for free without purchasing an admission ticket.


There will also be on-site events in which visitors can directly participate, such as food and beverage tastings and prize draws, as well as a variety of startup seminars tailored to the needs of prospective entrepreneurs.


In particular, the startup seminars will be held every day during the expo from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the seminar room, featuring experts in entrepreneurship.


On May 8, seminars will cover know-how on preparing a franchise that does not fail and marketing secrets for building a fan base. On May 9, the focus will be on promising startup trends for the second half of the year and franchise success strategies. On the final day, May 10, seminars will address sustainable survival startup strategies and legal topics such as the Franchise Business Act and the Commercial Building Lease Protection Act for stable business operations.


Park Gihwan, Director of Economic Affairs at Daegu Metropolitan Government, stated, "I hope this expo will provide high-quality franchise startup information and serve as a shortcut to successful entrepreneurship," adding, "We will do our utmost to vitalize the franchise industry so that local franchises can build brand competitiveness and continue to grow."
