Five Teams Collaborate on Interactive Documentaries Exploring Korean History, Society, and Culture
Dong-Eui University and Gustave Eiffel University Celebrate 13 Years of Exchange and Co-production
The Department of Film Studies at Dong-Eui University conducted the 2025 Korea-France Interactive Documentary co-production project with the Graduate School of Web Culture Technology at the French National Gustave Eiffel University from April 21 to May 7, 2025.

Dong-Eui University and the French National Gustave Eiffel University have been sister universities since 2013 and have co-produced interactive documentaries every year, alternating between France and Korea. This year marks the 13th anniversary of the project, with participation from 23 students and 2 professors from the Department of Film Studies at Dong-Eui University, as well as 34 students, 5 professors, and 1 coordinator from the Graduate School of Web Culture Technology at Gustave Eiffel University.
For this project, Korean and French students formed five teams to produce interactive documentaries on five topics related to Korean history, society, and culture: "Korean Student Movements," "Trot," "Elderly People Collecting Waste Paper," "Korean Regulatory Culture," and "Geoje Island Prisoner of War Camp."

Cha Mincheol, a professor in the Department of Film Studies at Dong-Eui University who has been supervising the project since 2013, said, "In this project, now in its 13th year, students from both countries captured their intersecting perspectives on Korean history, culture, and society through the new cinematic format of interactive documentary."
Thierry Bonzon, a professor at Gustave Eiffel University who co-supervised this project with Professor Cha Mincheol, shared his thoughts, saying, "The Department of Film Studies at Dong-Eui University and the Graduate School of Web Culture Technology at Gustave Eiffel University will continue to strengthen their exchange and cooperation in the future."
During the approximately three-week project period, filming and the first stage of post-production were completed. On May 7, a technical preview was held at Dong-Eui Cinema Hall, and the final post-production will be completed by the end of June, after which the works will be released online.
