'Daegu Gyeongbuk Joint Recruitment Fair' Held at Yeungnam University... 21 Public Enterprises and 4 Private Companies Participate

The city of Daegu, in cooperation with North Gyeongsang Province, will host the "2025 Daegu Gyeongbuk Regional Talent Joint Recruitment Fair" at the Cheonma Art Center of Yeungnam University on May 8, starting at 10 a.m. The event will bring together more than 3,000 university students and job seekers from the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions.


Since its inception in 2012, this event has been held annually under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and co-hosted by the city of Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province. The primary objectives are to expand the recruitment of local talent by public institutions in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk areas and to prevent the outflow of talent to the Seoul metropolitan area.

This year, a total of 25 organizations will participate, including 16 relocated public institutions such as Korea Gas Corporation and Korea Expressway Corporation, five local public enterprises such as Daegu Transportation Corporation and Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, and, for the first time, four private companies including Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation and other startups. These organizations will work together to discover and nurture local talent.


The participating public institutions include 16 organizations that have relocated to the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions: Korea Real Estate Board, Korea Gas Corporation, Korea Student Aid Foundation, Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, Korea Education and Research Information Service, Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, National Information Society Agency, Korea Foundation for the Promotion of Private School, Korea Expressway Corporation, KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company, Korea Rehabilitation Agency, Korea Transportation Safety Authority, Korea Legal Aid Corporation, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and Korea Radioactive Waste Agency. In addition, five local public enterprises?Daegu Transportation Corporation, Daegu Public Facilities Management Corporation, Gyeongbuk Development Corporation, Gyeongbuk Technopark, and Gyeongbuk Credit Guarantee Foundation?will participate, along with four private companies: Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, Yellosis Co., Ltd., Omnicot Co., Ltd., and Gloud Co., Ltd.


On the third floor convention hall of the venue, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., HR managers from each public institution will offer one-on-one consultations. Meanwhile, the main event, including a special career guidance lecture and a talk concert featuring successful job seekers, will be held in the first floor chamber hall starting at 1:30 p.m.


This year, in particular, a separate "Startup Zone" has been set up in collaboration with the Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, featuring promising private companies in the fields of software, electronic engineering, and digital printing. There will also be engaging events such as AI interviews and MBTI tests, aimed at supporting job seekers in their personal development and employment success.


In the past two years, the local talent recruitment rate at public institutions in Daegu has exceeded 40%, and the number of hires has steadily increased, making the popularity of the regional talent joint recruitment fair soar year after year.


Hwang Yoongeun, Director of Policy Planning for the city of Daegu, stated, "We have worked closely with participating organizations to ensure that this year's event will provide practical benefits for local talent. Going forward, we plan to develop various policies so that local talent can settle in the region and realize their dreams and hopes without leaving their hometowns. We will continue to support the employment and growth of local talent through close cooperation with public institutions."
