The official sponsorship committee for former Prime Minister Han Deoksoo, an independent preliminary presidential candidate, was launched on May 5.

The committee announced that on the morning of the same day, it began its official fundraising campaign under the slogan, "Immediate Constitutional Amendment, Trade Resolution, Accompanying the People, Join Han Deoksoo."

The committee emphasized the need to rally support for former Prime Minister Han for the "Immediate Constitutional Amendment Big Tent." The "Immediate Constitutional Amendment Big Tent" is a core keyword that reflects Han's determination to run in the presidential election.

In his declaration of candidacy for the 21st presidential election on May 2, Han stated, "On the first day of my term, I will establish a 'Presidential Direct Constitutional Amendment Support Organization' and devote all efforts to achieving a successful constitutional amendment," adding, "Through a swift constitutional amendment, I will place our constitutional order on a new foundation."

The head of the sponsorship committee is Kim Seokho, professor of sociology at Seoul National University and director of the Korean Social Science Data Archive.

Han said, "Professor Kim Seokho is a policy expert who has been active in various fields that are essential to us now, such as social integration, youth issues, the electoral system, and constitutional amendment," and added, "We must move beyond politics of conflict and division and evolve into politics that compete on policy."
