On Children's Day, fourteen guests at a resort in Wando, South Jeolla Province, showed symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and are currently receiving treatment at a hospital. It has been reported that a significant number of the affected individuals are children.


According to Wando County officials, police, and fire authorities, at approximately 6:56 a.m. on May 5, gas suspected to be carbon monoxide leaked in a fourth-floor room at a resort in Wando-eup, Wando County.


As a result of this incident, fourteen people were transported to the hospital after experiencing symptoms such as dizziness. Among them, five are reported to be children.


The fire authorities evacuated all guests from the building and are currently working to locate the exact source of the leak.


Fortunately, it has been confirmed that most of the patients are not in life-threatening condition.


The police and fire authorities are investigating the cause of the incident, questioning resort staff and related personnel.
