Jeollanamdo Province will operate a trial run of a mega cruise ship to provide new tourism content for visitors to Jeollanamdo, aiming to boost the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo.
The 'Jeonnam Island Night Sea Cruise' is the nation's first island cruise tour, departing from Yeosu at 3 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from May 23 to June 1. The cruise sails for two days and one night until 11 a.m. the following day, visiting beautiful islands in Jeollanamdo such as Geumodo, Geomundo, and Baekdo.
On the first day, the cruise offers unique views of the archipelago, including Geumodo, Ando, Yeondo, Baekyado, Gaedo, and Jedo. Guests can enjoy the sunset at sea, the beautiful nightscape of Yeosu's night sea, stargazing, fireworks, onboard street food stalls, a dinner buffet, ocean-view cabins, and various cruise services.
On the second day, the cruise moves to a sunrise point off the coast of Hyangiram, allowing guests to watch the sunrise over the archipelago. The route then passes through beautiful islands of Jeollanamdo, such as Narodo, Geumdangdo, Geomundo, and Baekdo. The specific itinerary will be flexibly adjusted based on weather conditions and navigation circumstances.
Tourists participating in the cruise tour can enjoy the island cruise experience, including fireworks, various performances, stargazing, ocean-view cabins, dinner buffet, and more, making it the only domestic island cruise that combines travel and resort experiences.
This Jeonnam Island Night Sea Cruise will use the 22,000-ton PanStar Dream. The ship is equipped with 115 cabins in total, as well as a convenience store, sauna, massage room, karaoke room, and various other amenities.
There are a variety of cabins available, from standard rooms to royal suites, and both dinner buffet and breakfast are provided free of charge. In addition, Jeollanamdo residents (including Jeonnam Sarangae Supporters) can receive a 20% discount by identifying themselves as residents after booking. Reservations can be made through PanStar Cruise and Modetour.
Park Geunsik, Director of Maritime Affairs and Ports at Jeollanamdo Province, said, "Coastal cruise travel will become a new business model for Jeollanamdo's tourism industry and greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy. To ensure the success of the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, we will expand cruise experiences for visitors next year and provide opportunities to experience unique accommodations by using cruise ships as floating hotels."
To mark Jeollanamdo Visit Month in May, the province is holding the nation's largest discount event to attract tourists, offering up to 50% off accommodation and workation costs, as well as steep discounts on major tourist attractions and experience products for visitors to Jeollanamdo.
