The Jeonnam Provincial Party of the Democratic Party of Korea (Chairman: National Assembly member Ju Cheolhyeon) held a successful launch ceremony for the Election Countermeasures Committee aimed at a landslide victory in the 21st presidential election on the 3rd at the Jangheung Integrated Medical Convention Center, officially declaring the committee’s inauguration.

This launch event was both a moment to confirm the passionate aspirations and determination of Jeonnam residents for the restoration of democracy, and a meaningful occasion symbolizing the full mobilization of Jeonnam toward the presidential election scheduled for June 3.

Approximately 700 people attended the event, including members of the election committee and party members from all 22 cities and counties of Jeonnam, as well as residents from various sectors of the province, filling the venue with enthusiastic support and determination.

Notably, key figures such as Jeong Eunkyung, Chief Director of the Central Election Committee, and Jeong Cheongrae, Director of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Neighborhood Election Committee, were also present to celebrate and support the launch of the Jeonnam Provincial Party’s election committee.

This Jeonnam Provincial Election Committee was formed as a “melting pot committee” with participation from over 850 people across 16 divisions, including members of the National Assembly and local councils, religious and professional organizations, civil society, and party members from all walks of life.

As co-leaders of the committee, National Assembly member Ju Cheolhyeon (Jeonnam Provincial Party Chairman, Yeosu-gap) and National Assembly member Seo Samseok (Yeongam-Muan-Shinan) were appointed as Standing Chief Directors. In addition to politicians such as Park Jiwon, Lee Gaeho, Shin Jeonghun, Kim Woni, Cho Gyeweon, Kim Moonsu, Kwon Hyangyeop, Moon Geumju (all National Assembly members from Jeonnam), and Kim Taegyun (Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council), other prominent figures also participated as chief directors: Jeong Yangsu (President of the Jeonnam Chapter of the Korean Senior Citizens Association), Monk Useok (Chief Monk of Hwaeomsa, representing Buddhism), Father Jo Youngdae (Gwangju Hanam-dong Catholic Church), Pastor Han Bongcheol (Mokpo Dongwon Church, Protestant), Kang Haeyoon (Won-Buddhist Minister, Yeongsan Church), Park Jeongseon (President of the Jeonnam Small Business Association), and Kim Yeonsik (former Future Education Policy Advisor, Jeonnam Office of Education). Their participation demonstrated a strong commitment to realizing the “spirit of solidarity and integration.”

At the launch ceremony, Standing Chief Director Seo Samseok emphasized, “The rebellion is not yet over. To bring it to a complete end, Jeonnam must take the lead by achieving a voter turnout of 85% and a vote share of 90%, ensuring an overwhelming victory and establishing a democracy-centered government led by Honam.”

Standing Chief Director Ju Cheolhyeon appealed, “This presidential election is not simply about a change of power, but a historic turning point for restoring constitutional order and people’s livelihoods. Jeonnam will stand at the forefront to block the unconstitutional and illegal rebellion of Yoon Sukyeol with a ‘Revolution of Light’ and ensure the establishment of a democracy-centered government led by Honam, so that Korea can rise again.”
