A shooting occurred at a specialized aviation technology college in Los Angeles (LA), United States, resulting in injuries to two staff members. Authorities believe the incident stemmed from a workplace conflict and are currently investigating.

The incident took place on May 2 (local time) at around 4:00 p.m. in an office on the campus of Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Inglewood, LA County. James Butts, the mayor of Inglewood, stated that two female staff members were shot and transported to the hospital, with one of them in critical condition.


Police have identified the shooting suspect as a former employee of the school and are conducting a campus-wide search in case the suspect has left the premises.


Immediately after the incident, a large police presence was deployed around the campus, and footage from the scene showed the area surrounding the school under complete lockdown.


Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology is an educational institution specializing in training professionals in aircraft piloting and maintenance, operating several campuses across the United States. Approximately 500 students are currently enrolled at the Inglewood campus where the incident occurred.


Authorities stated that the shooting appears to have originated from personal relationships or workplace conflicts, and they are investigating the exact motive and circumstances of the crime.
