Gwangju Koryoin Village Recruiting Exploration Group for Poseok Jo Myeonghee Literary Festival

Special Lecture by Director Kim Byunghak and Literary Festival with 50 Residents

The Gwangju Koryoin Village is recruiting a Koryoin Korean Literature Exploration Group to participate in the 'Poseok Jo Myeonghee Literary Festival' to be held on the 10th in Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do.


According to Koryoin Village on May 3, this exploration event has been organized to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Poseok Literary Museum and the 32nd Poseok Jo Myeonghee Literary Festival. It is expected to serve as an opportunity to trace the roots of Koryoin Korean literature and reflect on the identity of diaspora literature.

The group will be limited to the first 40 applicants, and participation is free of charge. Advance reservations are required through the Wolgok Koryoin Cultural Center website. The exploration will begin at 7 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. on the same day.


The literary festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the 10th at the outdoor stage in Poseok Park, Jincheon-eup. The event is hosted by the Poseok Memorial Association and jointly sponsored by Dongyang Ilbo, Jincheon-gun, Jincheon Cultural Center, Jincheon Writers' Association, and Jincheon Arts Council.


During the opening ceremony, Kim Byunghak, Director of the Koryoin Cultural Center, will deliver a special lecture titled "The Life and Literature of Poseok Jo Myeonghee." Poet Kim Vladimir from Gwangju Koryoin Village and about 50 residents will also attend, adding literary significance to the event.


After the literary festival, a commemorative concert will follow, featuring tenor Park Kyunghwan's "Chasing the Moon" performance, Yein Ensemble, Sanorakhoe, and stages by singers Lee Hyejin and Lee Sanghwa.
