On May 2, the Jeonnam Environmental Health Center at Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital announced that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mudeungsan National Park East Office to address climate change and improve environmental health and ecological welfare in the local community.

This agreement was established to effectively respond to complex environmental issues in the era of climate crisis and to build a sustainable cooperation system for the health of local residents and the preservation of the natural environment.

Under the agreement, the two organizations plan to pursue comprehensive cooperation in various fields, including: ▲ education and public relations collaboration to raise awareness of nature conservation and environmental health; ▲ information exchange and technical support in specialized fields such as environmental health; ▲ development and operation of joint projects and programs to respond to climate change; and ▲ operation of national park experience events and environmental health camps.

Park Wonju, Director of the Jeonnam Environmental Health Center and Professor of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital, stated, "The local environment is changing rapidly due to the climate crisis and changes in the ecosystem, which may affect both climate change and the health of residents. Through this agreement, I hope to establish a region-centered cooperation model that harmonizes ecology and health."

Son Youngjo, Director of the Mudeungsan National Park East Office, said, "I hope that, based on the expertise and resources of both organizations, we can make a tangible contribution to promoting community health and preserving the natural environment."
