Discovering and Supporting Outstanding Short Films
Providing Production Grants for Selected Works
KT&G announced on May 2 that it is accepting submissions for the 17th Grand Short Film Festival until May 31.
The Grand Short Film Festival is a flagship cultural contribution program operated by KT&G Sangsangmadang since 2007, aimed at discovering and supporting leading short films in Korea.
This year's competition is open to short films under 20 minutes. Works that pass the preliminary screening will be screened at KT&G Sangsangmadang Cinema from September 3 to 8. During the same period, awards for outstanding works will be presented based on audience evaluations and reviews by professional judges.
In addition, as in the previous year, a "Production Support Project" will be operated this year to discover outstanding short film scenarios. Selected scenarios will receive a production grant of 10 million won. Applications for participation and detailed information about the program can be found on the KT&G Sangsangmadang website.
Na Changhyun, Head of Cinema at KT&G's Cultural Contribution Department, stated, "Over the past 18 years, the Grand Short Film Festival has produced award winners in a total of 57 categories, including Best Director and Best Actor, serving as a gateway for emerging directors and actors. We look forward to the active participation of talented film professionals again this year."
