Ulsan Fire Department Begins Special Alert Duty Ahead of Buddha's Birthday

Inspection of Major Temples and Buddha's Birthday Event Venues
from May 2 to 6

The Ulsan Fire Department will implement a special alert duty for five days from May 2 to May 6, 2025, in preparation for large crowds and fire risks ahead of Buddha's Birthday (May 5).

The Ulsan Fire Department will conduct intensive inspections focused on fire prevention and strengthening initial response measures at major temples and Buddha's Birthday event venues within its jurisdiction.

During this special alert period, the fire department plans to deploy approximately 240 firefighters and volunteer fire brigade members to 37 major temples and event venues in the area, maintaining a 24-hour emergency response system.

In particular, the department aims to preemptively prevent fire hazards associated with the use of lanterns and candles at event sites, strengthen on-site response training, and establish a collaborative system with related agencies to ensure safety.

An official from the Ulsan Fire Department stated, "We will carry out thorough fire prevention and response activities so that citizens can participate in Buddha's Birthday celebrations with peace of mind."

On April 29, 2025, the Ulsan Fire Department held a special alert duty promotion status report meeting in preparation for Buddha's Birthday in the Operations Room on the 5th floor of Ulsan City Hall Annex 2, attended by Fire Chief Lee Jaesoon and 29 others.
