A Leading Expert in Small Business and SME Policy

The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business announced on May 2 that Lee Wangjae, former head of the Gangwon Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, has been appointed as the new Executive Vice President.

Executive Vice President Lee officially assumed his duties on May 1, following a review by the federation's board of directors on April 17. He is recognized as an expert in the field of small business and SMEs, having spent over 30 years at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, where he was involved in policy development, informatization and digital transformation, revitalization of traditional markets, local commercial district development, and support for small business collaboration.


Until March of this year, he served at the Gangwon Regional Office of SMEs and Startups, where he played a leading role in reflecting the voices of the field in policy by overseeing institutional operations and organizational management, as well as support policies for SMEs and small business owners.


Executive Vice President Lee stated, "During my tenure as head of the Gangwon office, I oversaw policies specifically designed to revitalize local commercial districts," adding, "As Executive Vice President of the federation, I will gather the voices of small business owners in the field, actively develop and propose countermeasures to policy authorities, and focus on finding solutions."
