This contest has been organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation and to instill a spirit of patriotism in children, who represent the future generation. This is the first time the event will be held, and it will take place at Maeheon Citizen's Forest, next to the Maeheon Yun Bonggil Memorial Hall, which honors the independence activist Yun Bonggil.

The contest is open to students enrolled in daycare centers, kindergartens, and lower grades of elementary schools within Seocho District. The competition is divided into two categories: kindergarten and elementary school. Participants will draw and submit their artwork on-site based on a topic provided at the event. Judging will be based on relevance to the theme and creativity, and a variety of awards will be presented, including the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, Merit Award, Encouragement Award, and Special Award.

On the day of the contest, the "Seocho District Patriots and Veterans Culture Festival" will also be held at the Maeheon Yun Bonggil Memorial Hall. The event venue will feature various side activities such as caricature drawing, face painting, and balloon art, as well as exhibitions of military equipment and drone experience booths, offering hands-on experiences for the whole family. Children will be able to enjoy not only the drawing contest but also commemorative ceremonies, concerts, exhibitions, and other diverse programs all in one place.

Applications can be submitted individually or as a group (via email) through the Seocho District Office website. Families visiting together are expected to have a meaningful time reflecting on the spirit of patriotism and the importance of reunification.

District Mayor Jeon Seong-su stated, "I hope that through this drawing contest, children who will lead our future will develop gratitude for those who have dedicated themselves to the country and will naturally come to appreciate the value of honoring our patriots and veterans."
