"Let's Play Together, Friends"... Geumcheon-gu to Host 'Geumcheon Children's Grand Festival' for Children's Day

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Seonghun) announced that it will hold the '2025 Geumcheon Children's Grand Festival' at Geumcheon Sports Park on May 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in celebration of the 103rd Children's Day.

This year marks the 18th edition of the event, which has been organized as a community festival where children can enjoy Children's Day with their families, friends, and neighbors, blending play, hands-on experiences, and learning.

Approximately 1,000 children, families, and local residents are expected to participate. The event will begin with a recital of the Children's Charter, followed by a variety of programs filled with activities and attractions.

Over 30 civic organizations will participate on-site, operating themed experience booths. Activities designed to spark children's curiosity and creativity include tasting local grains, voice acting dubbing experiences, making carbon air fresheners, and creating commemorative handkerchiefs, among others.

In addition, a children's flea market, a puppet show titled 'Heungbu and Nolbu,' and a talent show stage will be held, offering a diverse range of programs for the whole family to enjoy together.

At the end of the event, there will be an educational session where everyone will pick up and organize trash together, learning about the importance of the environment and practical ways to protect it in daily life.

In case of rain, the event will be relocated to the Geumnarae Culture and Sports Center. Safety personnel and medical staff will be deployed on-site to ensure that families can enjoy the festivities with peace of mind.

Yoo Seonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, "I hope that children will laugh, have fun, and create happy memories with their families on Children's Day," adding, "We will continue to do our best to make Geumcheon a happy, child-friendly city where all children can grow up healthy and safe."
