Seongdong-gu to Host Family Festival for the 103rd Children's Day at Wangsimni Square on May 4
A Variety of Fun Activities Including Carousel, Bumper Cars, Air Bounce, and Creative Experience Booths
Seongdong-gu in Seoul (Mayor Jung Wonoh) will host the Seongdong All-Village Grand Festival 'WagleWagle' at Wangsimni Square on May 4, in celebration of the 103rd Children's Day.
'WagleWagle' is Seongdong-gu's representative festival, now in its 15th year, offering a wide variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy together. The event will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the central road of Wangsimni Square will be closed to provide children with a larger and safer space to fully enjoy the festival.
In the Experience Zone on the north side of the square (near the fountain), 14 diverse experience booths will be operated by local children's and youth organizations. These include hands-on activities such as making carnation pinwheels, creating personalized animal fans, growing seedling pots, and participating in global experiences with native speakers.
The Play Zone on the south side of the square, including the central road, will be equipped with amusement rides such as a carousel, bumper cars, air bounce, and a trackless train, so children can have fun without going to an amusement park. Magic shows, bubble performances, and other entertainment will also be available.
Additionally, the 'Dance Challenge Together!' event will be held at the performance stage on the south side of the square, offering a special time for everyone to dance together to music and connect with one another.
At the same time, at the Seongdong Youth Center's Rainbow Theater, the 'Seongdong Children' awards ceremony will be held to recognize children who serve as role models at home and school in various areas such as social skills, creativity, volunteerism, and cooperation.
Jung Wonoh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "We have prepared the All-Village Grand Festival 'WagleWagle' so that children can play and enjoy themselves to the fullest close to home without having to travel far," adding, "I hope this will be a meaningful time for the whole family to create precious memories together, and we will continue to make every effort to ensure that Seongdong is a happy place for children."
