"Climate Change Response Efforts" Hyundai Construction Earns Top CDP Rating

Hyundai Construction announced on May 1 that it has received the highest "Leadership" rating in the climate change response category from the global sustainability assessment organization, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

At the CDP Korea Awards, hosted by the CDP Korea Committee, Hyundai Construction was the only domestic construction company to be inducted into the Hall of Fame for seven consecutive years. The company was also named to the highest "Platinum Club" tier for four consecutive years. CDP discloses information on companies' carbon management strategies and efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to investors and stakeholders. More than 24,000 companies worldwide disclose information through CDP. The company explained that CDP is recognized as one of the most credible indicators, used by financial institutions and the United Nations.

Hyundai Construction is pursuing company-wide carbon emission reduction by developing low-carbon concrete, constructing zero-energy buildings, and implementing various reduction initiatives such as power brokerage businesses. The company is applying low-carbon technologies across both its worksites and headquarters. In addition to CDP, Hyundai Construction's climate change response capabilities have been recognized by global organizations such as S&P Global Sustainability Assessment, Sustainalytics, and ISS.

The company stated, "We will lead the creation of sustainable value by diversifying our energy-focused portfolio, including expanding the energy value chain in areas such as offshore wind power and hydrogen."
