Dongdaemun-gu Love Gift Certificate Records 2.4 Billion Won in Sales Within Three Days of 4 Billion Won Issuance
'Dongdaemun-gu Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate' Issued at 10 a.m. on May 2, Totaling 300 Million Won
On May 1, Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pilhyung) announced the issuance of the 'Dongdaemun-gu Love Gift Certificate' and the 'Dongdaemun-gu Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate' to support local small businesses and revitalize the local economy in celebration of Family Month in May.
The 'Dongdaemun-gu Love Gift Certificate' was issued on April 28 at 2:00 p.m. with a total value of 4 billion won. Within just three days of issuance, over 2.4 billion won worth had been sold, and local residents continue to show strong interest.
This gift certificate can be used at Seoul Love Gift Certificate affiliated stores and offers a 5% discount. The monthly purchase limit per individual is 500,000 won, the holding limit is 1.5 million won, and it can be used for up to five years from the date of purchase.
In addition, starting at 10:00 a.m. on May 2, the 'Dongdaemun-gu Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate' will be issued with a total value of 300 million won. It can be used through Seoul’s public delivery app 'Ttaenggyeoyo,' and a 15% discount is applied. This is expected to help ease the financial burden on residents and contribute to the business stability of small business owners.
Notably, the Ttaenggyeoyo Gift Certificate offers a 'triple zero benefit' with no entry fee, no monthly usage fee, and no advertising costs, significantly reducing the burden on self-employed business owners using delivery apps. The monthly purchase limit is 200,000 won, the holding limit is 1 million won, and the validity period is one year.
District Mayor Lee Pilhyung stated, "I hope that various consumption activities such as family dining out or shopping during Family Month will lead to a virtuous cycle that revitalizes the local economy," adding, "I also hope that the issuance of these two local gift certificates will contribute to this positive trend."
