Through customized support based on farm type, the county provides seeds and seedling cultivation materials to self-propagating farms, while high-quality chili seedlings are supplied to seedling distribution farms via 11 participating nurseries within the county.

This project is expected to contribute to improved chili cultivation quality and stable farm income by enabling the mass production and supply of premium seedlings to chili farmers.

In particular, starting this year, the scope of the project has been expanded so that any chili farmer who is registered with a farm management certificate and has an address in Cheongsong County can benefit, regardless of age or cultivation area.

By completely abolishing the previous restrictions on age and cultivation area, the county has encouraged greater participation from farmers and increased the effectiveness of the project.

This year, 207 self-propagating farms and 1,400 seedling distribution farms have applied for the Premium Chili Seedling Distribution Project, and approximately 870,000 seedling pots are scheduled to be distributed to the seedling distribution farms.

Governor Yoon Kyunghee stated, "Selecting the right varieties and initial cultivation techniques is becoming increasingly important in response to climate change," and added, "We will continue to promote various pilot projects to enhance the competitiveness of Cheongsong chili peppers and strive to realize sustainable agriculture."
