With the integration enabling the combination of infrastructure and expertise, the city plans to shift the paradigm of its existing projects and pursue initiatives to revitalize local commercial districts in ways that citizens can tangibly experience.

The city will maintain the core functions and personnel of the former Commercial District Revitalization Foundation, while systematically advancing the operation of underground shopping centers and commercial district revitalization projects by leveraging the infrastructure and technical expertise of the Urban Corporation. Through this, the city expects to resolve the previous duplication of tasks caused by the dual-organization structure, and to achieve more efficient, function-centered operations.

Following the integration, a new "Commercial District Promotion Center" will be established directly under the president of the Urban Corporation, and the foundation's previous four-team structure will be reorganized into two teams: the Commercial District Revitalization Team and the Underground Shopping Center Team.

In particular, safety management issues arising from the aging of large-scale public facilities such as underground shopping centers are expected to be addressed more stably and efficiently by utilizing the facility management experience and professional personnel of the Urban Corporation.

In addition, the "Haengbok-ro Pedestrian-Friendly Specialized Street Creation and Landmark Store Establishment" project, which the city is prioritizing, will now be led by the Urban Corporation. This is expected to enhance the professionalism and systematic management of the project, developing it into a specialized initiative that not only improves the environment but also strengthens the symbolic status and economic vitality of the region.

An official from Uijeongbu City stated, "This integration is not a mere downsizing of the organization, but a strategic decision to eliminate redundant functions and strengthen expertise," adding, "Even after the organizational integration, we will continue to promote phased convergence measures that reflect feedback from the field."
