Governor Jeong Cheolwon began with a greeting reflecting on his first month in office and urged each department to thoroughly prepare for the upcoming 24th Damyang Bamboo Festival, which will be held from May 2 to 6.
Governor Jeong emphasized, "This festival is more than just an event; it is an opportunity to promote the Damyang brand and pride." He added, "Please do your utmost to inspect and improve all aspects of the event, and especially concentrate administrative efforts on minimizing visitor inconvenience by focusing on safety management, traffic measures, and parking guidance."
He reiterated that "safety is the key to success," and instructed staff to ensure thorough on-site response and situation management so that not a single accident occurs.
In addition, he once again shared the county's policy direction centered on the 'Odam Happiness Promise.' The core of the 'Odam Happiness Promise' includes: establishing Damyang as the top inland tourism and ecological garden culture city; creating a community that offers a happy life, places to live, rest, and work; fostering sustainable agriculture and rural areas that generate income; realizing an economically self-reliant city through urban-rural convergence; and implementing empathetic administration based on communication and harmony.
During the assembly, a session called "Curious about the Governor!" was held, where Governor Jeong directly answered staff questions and shared his philosophy on "honesty, loyalty, and integrity," as well as the attitude required of public officials, fostering communication.
Governor Jeong said, "Let us build an organizational culture of collaboration and communication based on mutual respect and consideration among public officials," and added, "As a governor who works together with you, I will lead the county administration from the same perspective as everyone else."
Meanwhile, during the assembly, there was also an awards ceremony for the winners of the 6th Beautiful Garden Contest and for outstanding public officials in celebration of the 53rd Health Day.
